How to make a beat-synced music video from your own song
Upload a track, pick a style and get a full music video where every cut lands on the beat. Steps, what it costs, and what you can change before paying.
A music video used to mean a crew, a shoot and days of editing. Vidsou does the planning, the pictures and the edit for you, and cuts every shot on the beat of your song.
Before you start
You need the song as an audio file (MP3, WAV, M4A or FLAC), and it must be one you made or have the rights to use. If you have the lyrics, keep them handy.
Step by step
- Open Create → I have a track and upload your song. Your audio stays private.
- Give it a title and pick a style. The style sets the look of every frame.
- Choose a format: 16:9 for a full-length YouTube video, or 9:16 / 1:1 for the best 60 seconds as a TikTok, Reel, Short or Instagram post. You can choose which 60 seconds.
- Optional: pick a recurring character so the same person appears throughout, or describe your own and add a reference photo. Only use photos of people who agreed to appear in an AI-made video.
- Optional: paste your lyrics. They help the director match scenes to what you sing.
- Press Analyze. Vidsou finds the tempo, the sections and the drops, and writes a shot list.
Review the shot list
Every shot has a description you can edit. Change what you don't like before you render. Nothing is charged until you render.

Make it yours
- Lyrics on the video: switch it on and your lyrics appear at the bottom, lighting up word by word, karaoke style. It's free.
- Motion: the key shots really move (hair, fabric, water, city lights) instead of slow camera moves over still frames. It's a paid add-on.
- Your own pictures: use your photos instead of AI frames. Vidsou still cuts them on the beat. When you use your own pictures, you can drag them into a new order.
After it renders
Watch it through. Changed your mind about a few shots? Edit them and render again: re-rendering is free, and you can remake pictures for up to 25% of the shots free. More remakes cost their share of the video's credits. If a render fails, the credits for the part that wasn't delivered come back automatically.
Then make a vertical cut to promote the full video. Our guide to picking a format explains which shape suits which platform.
What it costs
See every shot before you pay: your first 3 shot lists are free. After that, you pay with credits, with no subscription needed.
- Music video, any format: up to 12 shots 1,000 credits, up to 24 shots 2,000, up to 40 shots 3,300, up to 64 shots 5,200. After your song is analysed, you see the number of shots we suggest and the price before you render.
- Video from your own pictures: 500 credits for YouTube, or 250 for a vertical or square cut.
- Motion on key shots: adds 4,000 credits to a YouTube video, or 2,000 to a short.
Sales tax may be added. Available in most of the US.
